The concentric butterfly valve is a flow control valve that control the flow in line with the help of a rotary disc.The thin disc makes a small hindrance in the path of the fluid flow.But it is very economical than other valves. It is easy in manufacturing, smooth to operate and maintenance.In this design, wafer pattern is very lightweight so the cost is very cheap in manufacturing and easy to installation, handling. Due to these properties this valve become project cost and time saver.The common name of this series is as Centric or Concentric butterfly valve.The stem through the centre of disc with the help which the disc rotates quarter turn. It allows a smooth operation of open/close via lever/gear. The seat is moulded with the body so the fluid is not touch directly with the body material.It is also popular as a resilient-seated valve as it depends on the flexibility of the seat rubber.In this type of valve, the disk first interacts with the seat at about 85° for a 90° rotation. The concentric butterfly valves are widely used in low-pressure water applications.

In a high-performance butterfly valve the stem is out from the centre line. Due to which it is called offset high performance butterfly valve.
